Advised Friday Night 3rd November 2023 | Professional Horse Racing Tipster

Ascot 2:05

0.5 point each way First Flow 13/2 Skybet & Bet365, 4 places else 7/1 generally, 3 places.

First Flow is getting on in years at 11 so hopefully trainer Kim Bailey will have him ready. He goes well first time out usually and won first time up twice only to find the ground too quick last season. There is more rain forecast for Ascot in the morning which could turn the ground heavy. That is ideal as First Flow loves winter ground and has a great record around Ascot. This is a handicap and First Flow carries top weight of 12 stone. The positives are he was a proper graded level horse in his younger days and will stay this trip strongly on testing ground.

Ascot 3:15

0.5 point each way Knickerbockerglory 8/1 Boylesports, Betvictor, Ladbrokes & Bet365, all 4 places.

Knickerbockerglory has some good form on soft or worse ground from last season. He looked like the winner in the Imperial Cup at Sandown run on heavy ground only to tire nearing the final hurdle. Iceo ran him down but that run proved Knickerbockerglory has the ability to win a premier handicap hurdle. His Imperial Cup run handicap mark was 129 and he is just a pound higher here. Harry Skelton rides at Wetherby so Tristan Durrell rides and claims off a valuable 5lbs.

Ascot 3:45

0.5 point each way Monbeg Genius 4/1 generally, 4 places.

It’s hard to get away from Monbeg Genius who is a young chaser on the up. He ran a cracker in the Ultima handicap chase at the Cheltenham Festival when run down after the final fence by winner Corach Rambler and runner up Fastorslow. Corach Rambler went on to win the Aintree Grand National while Fastorslow won the Punchestown Gold Cup. Monbeg Genius has won three of his five chasing starts and will love the testing ground at Ascot.
