Advised Thursday Night 11th May 2023 – Bet Alchemist

Chester 1:30

0.5 point each way Revich 5/1 Skybet 5 places else 5/1 generally, 4 places.

Our auld pal Revich is back for more at Chester and loves it here. His record at Chester is 3 wins 1 second & 3 third places from 10 runs. Last year he blew the start from stall 1, met traffic in running and just failed to reel in the leaders. His form coming here is good as surprisingly they rode him on the lead in the spring mile at Newbury where he finished third. He is not badly drawn in stall 6 which gives options to jockey Jim Crowley. The softer ground this year at Chester is a positive and a mark of 92 is workable.

Chester 3:15

0.5 point each way Tritonic 10/1 Skybet 6 places else 11/1 Boylesports, Betvictor & Coral, 5 places.

Alan King is a trainer to always consider in these valuable staying flat handicaps. He runs Tritonic in the Chester Cup tomorrow. Tritonic showed a return to form with a fourth-place finish at the Aintree festival in a premier handicap on soft ground. He will love this marathon 2m2.5f trip on soft ground with Hollie Doyle booked for the ride. Hollie rode Tritonic to beat Goshen at Goodwood over 1m4f last October giving the runner up 11lbs. He is drawn ok in stall 8 and is well used to the hustle and bustle of big field handicaps.

Chester 4:55

0.5 point each way Its Good To Laugh 8/1 Bet365, Betvictor, Skybet & Paddy Power, all 5 places.

Its’ Good To Laugh ran in the Chester Cup at this meeting last year. He was slow away but galloped on strongly to claim 7th place. The ground was good last year so I think he will be more at home on soft and down in grade. His trainer Jennie Candlish has booked top 3lb claimer Billy Loughane reducing his weight to 9-9 and rating to a lovely 82. He is well drawn in stall 6, has won twice at Chester and wears first time pieces. Novel Legend is a short-priced favourite following his Newbury win three weeks ago and is 7lbs well in. However, he is drawn high in stall 14 and might have been flattered at Newbury with runner up Call My Bluff having his first run of the season.
