Yes Indeed Jonjo

We enjoyed a good winner last Saturday thanks to Luccia at Ascot.

The Challow Hurdle is the best race this Saturday with the better handicaps kept back for Cheltenham on New Years Day.

We dip our toes into a Class 3 handicap chase at Newbury which has a good each way look in the betting market.

Yes Indeed runs well at Newbury and looks well handicapped on a mark of 125. He can make the odd jumping mistake so hopefully it all comes together tomorrow. In March he ran a big race here losing out by a head to Foxboro over 2m6.5f on soft ground. He carried top weight that day so 11-4 is better as is going out in trip to 3m2f. Yes Indeed proved he stays this trip with an encouraging run in November. He finished third to Houston Texas at Carlisle on soft ground. We need to forgive his latest run at Bangor where a mistake and heavy ground proved his undoing.

Shanty Alley ran a cracker in this race last season when just held by Grumpy Charlie. Shanty Alley was rated 125 that day and runs tomorrow off a 5lb lower mark of 120. He will come forward from his first run of the season at Catterick last month. This son of Shantou will enjoy the soft ground as I cannot believe it will be good to soft following all the recent rain! Jack Quinlan takes over riding duties and I think Shanty Alley is primed to go close with a nice weight of 10-13 on his back.

Newbury 2:25

0.5 point each way Yes Indeed 9/1 Skybet 5 places else 10/1 generally, 4 places.

0.5 point each way Shanty Alley 13/2 Betvictor & Bet365, 4 places.
